The growth hormones category collects the peptides and proteins used to study GHRH receptor and GHS-R1a signalling, JAK2-STAT5 activation and IGF-1 receptor pharmacology in pituitary and other cell culture models. HGH is recombinant human growth hormone, a 191-residue protein that dimerises the GH receptor and activates JAK2-STAT5, and IGF-1 LR3 is an extended analogue of IGF-1 with reduced affinity for IGF binding proteins, used in IGF-1 receptor phosphorylation and PI3K-Akt assays. Sermorelin (GHRH 1-29) and CJC-1295 No DAC (a four-substitution GRF 1-29 analogue) are GHRH receptor agonists read out by cAMP accumulation. Ipamorelin, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are synthetic GHS-R1a agonists used in calcium mobilisation, inositol phosphate and GH release assays in somatotroph cell lines, and they differ in their selectivity over ACTH and prolactin release.
Tesamorelin, a further GHRH analogue, is listed under the metabolism category.
