BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide with the sequence of a fragment of a protein isolated from gastric juice, characterised in fibroblast and endothelial scratch and transwell migration assays, FAK and paxillin phosphorylation, VEGFR2 signalling and nitric oxide pathway readouts. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4 containing the LKKTET actin-binding motif; it sequesters monomeric G-actin, so it is used in actin polymerisation assays, phalloidin staining of the cytoskeleton, and endothelial tube formation and migration assays. LL-37, the 37-residue human cathelicidin, is included for its work in keratinocyte migration, EGFR transactivation and FPR2 signalling, and is also listed in the immune signalling category for its TLR and membrane interaction studies.
Common readouts across the category include collagen I and III, fibronectin and MMP transcript levels by qPCR, cell adhesion to matrix-coated plates, and live-cell migration imaging.
